Supporting Charity

The Put Foot Rally is NOT a charity event. It is a social adventure in Africa!

We just believe in having the time of our lives in Africa and doing good at the same time! That's why, with the help of our legendary Put Footers, we give back to Africa either through direct, hands-on charity work, or by supporting worthy causes.

Here is how the 2013 Put Foot Rally Crews will be Supporting Charity:

  1. NEW: Each Crew must raise  R10,000 for charity to validate their entry.
  2. Each Crew is free to support a charity of their choice!  (Crew's must inform HQ of their choice)
  3. The first R10,000 raised must be donated to the Official Rally Charity: "Put Foot Foundation".
  4. All funds raised above R10,000 may be donated to a charity of the Crew's choice.
  5. Funds donated to the Put Foot Foundation will be eligible for a Section 18A(2) tax receipt.

The story so far:

2011: R300,000 raised for  Bobs For Good Foundation

2012: R560,000 raised for Put Foot Foundation and Project Rhino.

2013: R1,1million raised for Put Foot Foundation

As of July 2014 we've changed over 5500 young lives with the gift of a brand new pair of school shoes!

Let's go out there, be awesome, doing good, making a difference and leaving our Africa better than we found it!

Please understand the difference between SPONSORSHIP & DONATIONS

SPONSORSHIP: An individual/company offers to give you money for your adventure (maybe in return for exposure on your vehicle). Your Crew uses the money to pay for petrol.

DONATIONS: An individual/company gives you money for the charity that you are supporting.

NB: You may not use funds that are intended for charity to cover your travel expenses. This is 'corruption' and not cool, and you will be removed from the rally.

Founded by three aspiring young South Africans Daryn Hillhouse, Mike Sharman and Bob Skinstad the Put Foot Foundation's is South... or rather Southern Africa's newest "adventure-charity!'

"We want to build upon the vision started by the Bobs For Good Foundation by committing our passion, energy and shared vision of changing young lives through a single pair of brand new school shoes."

The Put Foot Foundation will act as an umbrella organisation when teaming with other charities and will assume responsibility for the administration, planning and delivery of social development projects, as well as responsibility for the accounting, collection and distribution of donations.

Our goal is to raise funds for a minimum of 600 pairs of shoes and to provide Donors and Put Foot Rally participants with the opportunity to see and feel 'first-hand' the life-changing experience that gifting a brand new pair of school shoes to a young underprivileged child can deliver!
